Resilience and Hysteresis? Maximize

Resilience and Hysteresis:

Resilience is an indicator of the surface elasticity or «springiness». It is measured by dropping a standard steel ball onto the foam from a given height and measuring what percentage the ball rebounds.

Hysteresis Loss : Test measures foam resiliency by determining energy loss during loading and unloading.
A low hysteresis loss equates to higher resiliency foam.
Measured by first indenting the foam sample 25% and measuring firmness, then indenting it 65% and again measuring firmness, and finally releasing indentation to the 25% level without allowing the foam to completely relax. Without fully releasing indentation, foam won’t recover all of its original 25% firmness, but the percentage of firmness it does recover is believed to be a good indicator of overall cushion durability.
